The preparation means you have an honest answer. The desire, the shame — both present, both acknowledged rather than managed. You tell him what you're carrying.

He says: those things don't need to resolve before we start. They're present and that's appropriate.

The first tribute request comes fifteen minutes in. The amount is within your established parameters. The act of sending it — money moving from your control to his as an expression of something that has been entirely internal for a long time — is more real than the reading prepared you for.

The session continues. The shame is present throughout but engaged rather than suppressed. Something in having the thing you're ashamed of be the explicit content of a deliberate consensual act changes its relationship to you.

The session ends. Marcus: don't make any financial decisions or commitments for the next twenty-four hours. The recalibration period is real.
